Wait a minute baby,
Stay with me awhile...
Said you'd give me light
But you never told me about the fire.

Drownin', in the sea of love
Where everyone would love to drown.
Lyrics: Sara - Fleetwood Mac

I just discovered this tribute band from Pittsburgh,Pa
"THE CHAIN" & If you love Fleetwood Mac you're going to be
delighted with
"THE CHAIN". I'm a big fan of good music like Led Zeppelin, The Doors, Pink Floyd to name a few of my
favorite bands. Fleetwood Mac was a band that had great popular songs on the radio that I liked & considered by most
people as a great band with great musicians. This band
"THE CHAIN" does Fleetwood Mac justice. The vocals are
superb and the musicians do an excellent job covering the songs pretty much spot on. I'm really impressed with Kimmy
(Stevie Nicks), her vocals are so close to the real Stevie it's unbelievable!!

The band is made up of 6 musicians/artists, all dressed just like Fleetwood Mac!

Founder - Jim (Doc) Stamps - Mick Fleetwood, Drums/Percussion
Kimmy Scholl - Stevie Nicks Lead Singer
Rob Gamerro - John McVie Bass
Sandy Anderson - Christine McVie Keyboards & Vocals
Keith Cole - Jeremy Spencer Guitar & vocals
Tony Acker - Lindsey Buckingham Guitar & Vocals
They have been playing together since 1991 as a cover band called 'Harder Edge' playing all sorts of classic rock songs.
During that time the lead singer Kimmy and drummer Jim/Doc always had people saying to them that they looked like &
sounded like Stevie Nicks and Mick Fleetwood, so after so many comments to that effect they decided to try doing
strictly a Fleetwood Mac tribute and in less than a years time they're getting gigs all over and being recognized as a
great Fleetwood Mac tribute band.
Their shows sell out quick!! They play all the great Fleetwood Mac songs like Sara, The Chain, Gold Dust Woman, Gypsy,
to many to name! At the end of their shows they pick like about a dozen people in the audience and give away their CD
as a token of their appreciation for supporting the band. Their wish is to make Fleetwood Mac come ALIVE for the fans,
make fans happy, have fun, & just enjoy the tunes. If you have a chance to catch one of their shows go and check them
out!

Visit the band's website here. Get information on their tour dates, bios & music videos.

I've never before written about the recent trend in tribute bands, most of whom associate themselves with the music of
the classic rock era. I've always believed that while it is one thing to cover someone else's music it is often an unsettling
experience when the musicians on stage become the band they love so much. But now,
The Chain, a Fleetwood Mac
tribute band, is helping me change my mind.
The Chain is also known as Harder Edge, the original incarnation of the
same band that specializes in classic rock covers. However, when Harder Edge's fans told their bandleader, founder,
and drummer, Jim Stamps, that he looks like Mick Fleetwood and that lead singer Kim Scholl sounds a lot like Stevie
Nicks they decided to do an entire show devoted to the Mac's music. Today, while both versions of the band still exist,
their preference and focus lies with
The Chain.
In addition to Stamps and Scholl the Pittsburgh based sextet includes Rob Gamerro as John McVie on bass, Sandy
Anderson as Christine McVie on keyboards and lead vocals, and Keith Cole as Jeremy Spencer on guitar and vocals.
The group is rounded out by newcomer Tony Acker who has morphed into Lindsey Buckingham since joining them.
The only way to obtain a copy of
The Chain's seven song CD (pictured here) is to win one at their shows. The prize is
given away to about a dozen or so fans who look the best in their Fleetwood Mac garb. Unfortunately, the disc is never
for sale but I've had the pleasure of obtaining a copy without having to pretend I'm Fleetwood, Buckingham, or anyone
else in the band. (I'd make a terrible looking Stevie Nicks.) Speaking of Nicks, just listen to Scholl steal the star's voice on
"Sara," one of the CD's tunes found on the band's music player. There you can listen to all of the tracks from the disc
including "Gypsy," "Don't Stop," "Say That You Love Me," and more. The group has also released three CDs under the
Harder Edge moniker.
It's obvious that Stamps loves the veteran British all-stars. He says, "What's really cool about about Stevie Nicks and
Fleetwood Mac is they're timeless. Their music has lasted decades and each new generation that has come along has
they did send a CD to Nicks who apparently must approve because she added their link to her website.
I've never seen the
The Chain/Harder Edge live. All I know about them musically are the songs I've heard on The Chain's
self-titled disc and the videos posted on their website. They are enough to prove how talented these crooks are.
Apparently Pittsburgh must agree because the band played to a standing room only crowd at the Steel City's Hard Rock
Cafe this past summer and they are looking forward to a possible West Coast tour this year.

Tribute bands are all about love.  At least that’s how I see it. You encounter music that drives you crazy and before
you know it, you’re in a trance that’s going to be with you till you bid the blue planet adieu.  People look back at the 60’s
and the 70’s and even parts of the early 80’s as the time where music finally evolved.  Some people call it the Golden era;
others merely remember it to be the time when “real music” happened.   Fleetwood Mac was part of the same revolution
and are major stakeholders in the change that we witnessed in that era.
THE CHAIN are a similar bunch; they love
Fleetwood Mac and are going to make sure people recognize, remember and most importantly enjoy the music the
legendary British-American band were famous  for.
THE CHAIN started out as Harder Edge in 1991 and comparisons to Fleetwood Mac have been rampant ever since.  Be it
facial resemblance to even the style of music they played, it’s basically been hard to ignore.  So they decided a few years
ago that they ready for the next step-the same bunch of guys coming together under a new name to belt out tracks by
their idols.  In concert, these guys perform with an intensity that leaves spellbound. The passion that they resonate as
they swing about in their FM attire is epic.
And don’t mistake them to be novices.  With years of music under their belt and a sound understanding of what people
expect and what they stand for, they have turned into one among the best tribute bands on the scene.  Never have they
performed for a crowd that hasn’t been sold out or walked out of a place without the crowd going bonkers and swaying
to their beats.  They’ve done gigs at Hard Rock Cafe, Trib Amphitheater, Convention Centers and even performed for a
private, "Real" English Royalty Party!
So let’s meet the band!
